Tech Sassy Girlz Hosts Inspiring Luncheon with Mayor Jerry Demings
CategoriesNews

In a memorable event, Tech Sassy Girlz had the honor of hosting a surprise fireside chat and luncheon with Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings. The gathering was a unique opportunity for our Pearls in Tech Accelerator students to gain inspiration and valuable insights from Mayor Demings, whose words of encouragement resonated deeply with the young minds aspiring to make their mark in STEM.
Adding to the excitement, the luncheon also welcomed a group of STEM students from Trinidad, who were part of the 2024 Eyes Wide Open program. These bright young ladies not only experienced an empowering event but were also recipients of new laptops, generously donated by the Aeras Foundation. This gesture further reinforced our commitment to providing the necessary tools and resources to nurture the next generation of women in technology.

The success of this event was made possible by the collaboration and support of various partners. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mayor Demings and his team, as well as our sponsors—Orange County FL, the NBA Foundation, Valencia College, the Aeras Foundation, and AceApplications—whose contributions helped create an unforgettable experience.
This luncheon was more than just an event; it was a celebration of leadership, community, and the limitless potential of our students. As we continue to build a brighter, more inclusive future in tech, we are reminded of the power of mentorship and the importance of supporting young women as they pursue their dreams in STEM.
