About Tech Sassy Girlz

Tech Sassy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Orlando, FL. Our mission is to empower underrepresented middle and high school girls to pursue science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields through college preparation, career readiness, mentoring and entrepreneurship.

Tech Sassy Girlz is an out-of-school program designed to increase the pipeline of under-represented girls in STEM-related fields. Yearlong programming is delivered to students in informal learning environments. Our program creates educational and mentoring opportunities that generate awareness of STEM education and careers.


Position Summary

Tech Sassy Girlz seeks a full-time Director of Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy. This is a new position and the Director of Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy will play a key role as we scale our STEM programs across Central Florida. This position will report directly to the CEO.

The Director of Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy is responsible for developing a fundraising strategy, establishing annual fundraising goals and managing all aspects of fundraising campaigns including solicitation, cultivation, acknowledgement and recognition activities.

This individual will work with the team to fulfill development goals and strategies, and to maximize prospective and current corporate donor engagement. The ideal candidate will fully understand our mission and vision to properly convey them to partners and prospective corporate donors. The Director of Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy will play a key role in developing and implementing fundraising strategies to secure financial support from individuals, foundations, corporations, and other stakeholders passionate about advancing STEM education. We are seeking an individual with an entrepreneurial spirit! The ideal candidate will have experience managing events, fundraising and community building.


Responsibilities

In partnership with the CEO and Board of Directors, the Director of Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy will:

● Expand pipeline of corporate gift prospects by increasing the number of companies and growing and sustaining unrestricted support to meet program needs

● Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to achieve annual revenue goals and long-term sustainability for the organization

● Cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporations, and other philanthropic partners to secure major gifts, grants, and sponsorships

● Lead prospect research and identification efforts to expand the donor pipeline and cultivate new funding opportunities.

● Grow program focused portfolio of major corporate funders

● Manage content for social media, presentations and annual report

● Develop an outreach action plan to approach potential companies

● Develop community partnerships

● Research and identify prospective donors and partners

● Coordinate the following campaigns: The Butterfly Effect, Pearls in Tech, Giving Tuesday, and End of Year Appeal and other fundraising initiatives

● Plan and arrange meetings with prospective companies and partners

● Oversee the planning and execution of fundraising events, campaigns, and donor cultivation activities to engage and steward supporters

● Create and execute sponsorship plans

● Attend and represent Tech Sassy Girlz at key programs and events and passionately communicate our mission and vision

● Assist with fundraising duties as needed; other duties as assigned


Required Competencies

● Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Nonprofit Management, Business, Marketing or related field preferred.

● 5 years of fundraising, grant writing and development experience (preferably for a nonprofit organization)

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on business writing skills

● Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail

● Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects

● Ability to work independently

● Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other related computer skills required. Adobe Creative Cloud skills preferred. Knowledge of Salesforce is a plus.

• Must pass a Level 2 background check. Travel is approximately 80% and reliable transportation and a FL driver’s license is required. This is not a remote position.
